The Company, Coriander Kids, LLC was founded by Kate Alderfer Candela and Charleen Alderfer, a daughter and her mother, in August 2004. They decided to bring to production an idea for a children’s hydration pack that could be used both in a car and as a backpack. The packs would be varied in color, pattern, and design so as to appeal a child’s sense of fantasy.
The idea arose out of the need of Kate Alderfer Candela with her own children when she realized the frequency which she was retrieving dropped cups from the floor in the back of the car. The product, Sip’N Pac, is not only a convenience for the parent who is driving children in car seats, but it is also a safety measure. Parents who need to turn around and grope for an elusive cup are not paying attention to driving thereby putting themselves and their children at risk.
